How It All Began

In 1988, Kenny Henny arrived in the United States direct from Kingston, Jamaica in search of fine opportunities and vast possibilities. His love for Caribbean foods (specifically ‘all things jerk’) would eventually lead to the development of Got Jerk! LLC, a PA company that offers the finest flavors in authentic gourmet spices.

In Jamaica, Kenny had experience owning and operating a popular restaurant that had the area’s best jerk chicken. In the U.S. his legacy lives on. His Harrisburg restaurant’s Hot n’ Tasty sauce quickly became a neighborhood favorite and people couldn’t get enough of his jerk and curry flavors.

What he brought from Kingston was not just his famous sauce recipes, but also the culture of the food that he made. In the Caribbean, food is more than ‘good eats.’ Food represents fun, family, and community. Got Jerk! is no exception. Inspired by the free spirited culture that developed the jerk process in the 1800’s, its products pay homage to the Caribbean Islands and its passion for spicy, zesty flavors, and authentic cooking style.

In 2013, entrepreneurs Ray Dixon and Ben Anderson filled a market gap by launching Got Jerk! sauce with Kenny Henny’s authentic caribbean recipe. The company quickly establishing retail distribution with Specialty / Independent groceries in the Mid-Atlantic region and in 2016 entered foodservice with an exclusive contract in Sysco’s North East wholesale network.
